Janelle Abbott

Janelle Abbott began her career with the Grand Rapids Ballet in Michigan. Under the direction of Robert Estner and Charthel Arthur, she performed leading roles in Gaite Parisienne, Phillip Jerry's Realm of Light, Swan Lake., The Nutcracker, and Romeo and Juliet. While on scholarship in the University of Utah's Ballet Department, where she earned her BFA, Janelle studied with and performed original works by Conrad Ludlow, Attila Ficzere, Elizabeth Nessi, and Molissa Fenley. She has also performed in various regional musical theatre productions, including The Music Man, South Pacific, and UTAH! The Musical. Since moving to New York City, Janelle has been performed in a variety of venue~ including WAXworks, the American Dance Guild Festival, the Field Day, Ballet Arts at City Center, Broadway Dance Center's Performance Outlet, BDC's The Best of .. 2000, as well as with the Kennedy Dancers (NJ) and Journey Dance Ensemble. Janelle is a member of Octavia Cup Dance Theatre and the Vazquez Dance Ensemble, and has assisted and performed with dancer/choreographer Slam in many projects, including Ballet Builders 2002 produced by New Choreographers on Pointe. Janelle was thrilled to be performing for the first time with the Blue Muse Dance Project.
