Riki Hanawa

Riki Hanawa is a native of Nagano, Japan. She started ballet training when she was sixteen years old. She enrolled in PAI School, Tokyo in 1998.  In 2000 she came to New York and is currently studying at Peridance. Her debut in NYC was the performance at PAC and WAXWORKS in Mayuna’s choreography.  She also has studied Sho-Rin-ji Kenpo (Chinese Martial Arts). Due to her beautiful performance on the stage, Shimizu invited her again for a new work: “Silkworm” at Queens Museum of Art, as part of the Queens International world music, dance, and film program 2003.
