Rika Hayashi began dancing at the
age of five in Chiba, Japan. Her first encounter with ballet was a children’s
book about a ballerina. After reading, and re-reading the book numerous times,
she decided her future lay in dance. She enrolled at the Chiba Ballet Academy
and began her dance career. She has always enjoyed the excitement of performing
onstage in front of an audience, and is thrilled to have this opportunity to
perform here at the Queens Museum of Art. She is currently studying at Ecole de
Ballet Pieds nus School in Japan, and enjoys ice-skating, gymnastics, and
playing with her four dogs in her free time. |
